Dr. Frank Farkas

Dr. Frank Farkas is the Clinic Director.  His initial introduction to chiropractic care was due to sports injuries that he suffered in high school.  He was so thoroughly impressed with his recovery that he decided to pursue chiropractic as a career.

Dr. Farkas is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but moved with his family to northeast St. Petersburg while in high school.  He attended St. Petersburg Catholic High School, St. Petersburg College and Eckerd College, receiving a bachelor's degree in health management.  He is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic.

He started his practice in St. Petersburg over 30 years ago in a small office not far from the present clinic location with his wife, Toni.  His success in treating patients with various ailments necessitated expansion to a larger facility.  The present clinic location is 5,000 square feet, and employs four other chiropractic physicians, two neuromuscular massage therapists and a support staff of eight.

Dr, Farkas has had extensive postgraduate studies, including orthopedics, neurology, trauma, nutrition, work and sports injuries and wellness.  He has testified as an expert witness on many occasions, and has lectured extensively.  His passion for civic involvement has also kept him quite busy.  He is a past graduate of Leadership St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay, a past president of the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society, and the Florida Chiropractic Association.  He is also active on many local boards.

The passion Dr. Farkas has for public service led him into the political arena.  He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1998, and served four consecutive terms.  He has served as the chairman of numerous committees, including the Committee on Health Care, the Select Committee on Affordable Health Care for Floridians, and as Chairman of the Commerce Council.  He has received numerous awards and accolades for his work on healthcare, insurance, children and elder issues.

Dr. Farkas and his wife, Toni, have been married 32 years, and have two children.

Dr. James Burke

A lifelong native of St. Petersburg, Dr. Burke returned to his hometown in 1993 and joined his friend Dr. Farkas in practice.

Dr. Burke has developed an active practice specializing in pediatrics, "moms to be" and auto/sports related accidents and injuries.

Dr. Burke graduated from St. Petersburg Caltholic High School, St. Petersburg Junior College, attended Florida State University, College of Business and graduated from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia.

"Dr. Jim" is married to Sarah, our office manager, and they have three young daughters.  He enjoys fishing, camping, walking, sports and is a collector of golf antiques.  He participates in the yearly Pinellas County "Great American Teach-In", has been a volunteer coach at Northeast Little League and volunteers for Special Olympics events in our area.

Dr. MJ Hilton

A native of Tampa, Dr. Hilton first attended St. Petersburg Junior College in 1987.  After receiving her Associate of Science in Natural Science, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of South Florida.  Dr. Hilton then moved to Chicago where she completed studies to earn a second Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology and went on to attain her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the National College of Chiropractic.  At the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies, she completed coursework for certification as Diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology, course work in Clinical Neurology, and is board eligible for Certification from the American Board of Chiropractic Neurologists.

Never one to stop learning, Dr. Hilton's postgraduate education has been extensive.  The courses she has completed thus far include: Clinical Nutrition, Michael Dobbins, D.C.: Advanced Nutritional & Herbal Therapies, Michael Dobbins, D.C.; Modern Applications of Traditional Nutritional & Herbal Therapies, Michael Dobbins, D.C.; Effective Herbal Therapies, Kerry Bone, BSc (hons), Dip Phyto, FNIMH, FNHAA; Herbal Approaches to Common Female and Pediatric Disorders, Angela Hywood, N.D.; Florida Workman's Compensation Certification Program; Impairment Rating and the Law; Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Extremities; Muscle Balance/Imbalance as a Frequent Cause of Sports Injury; Pediatric Care, International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association.

Dr. Hilton has garnered several fellowships, honors and accomplishments.  While attending the National College of Chiropractic, she received the Rupolo Scholarship Award for outstanding clinic intern.  She also received nomination to the "Who's Who Among American College Students" and was a member of the National Dean's List.  Dr. Hilton, was selected as the Fellow in the Microbiology Department at National College resulting in her instructing and lecturing microbiology laboratories.  Her academic achievements at National College led her to graduate class Valedictorian with Summa Cum Laude honors.

Her professional licenses and certifications include: State of Florida, Chiropractic Physician 1995 to present; State of Illinois Chiropractic Physician 1995 to present (inactive); State of Ohio, Chiropractic Physcian, 1995 to present (inactive), State of Florida, Physiotherapy Certification; State of Florida, Phlebotomy  Certification, State of Illinois, Acupuncture Certification; Florida Workman's Compensation Certification; Impairmant Rating Certification.

Dr. Daniel G. Olson

Dr. Olson is the newest member of the Farkas Chiropractic team!  He is a 2007 graduate of the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.  To help people achieve their optimal health potential., Dr. Olson continues to stay up to date on the latest technology and techniques through continuing education seminars.   Dr. Olson is a member of the Florida Chiropractic Society and Florida Chiropractic Association. 

Dr. Olson is a native of Loveland, CO.  He was heavily active in athletics growing up.  This landed him a baseball scholarship to the University of Kansas.  After college, he was drafted by the Florida Marlins, but an unexpected injury halted his pursuit of becoming a professional baseball player.  Utilizing skills obtained through college and professional athletics, as well as in the classroom, Dr. Olson is committed to helping others achieve their peak performance in life and in health.

Dr. Olson has been under the care of a chiropractor himself for over 12 years.  He is a firm believer in chiropractic wellness care and wants everyone he meets to benefit from chiropractic as he has.  Chiropractic is the KEY to unlocking your body's ability to heal and self regulate.  Dr. Olson looks forward to assisting you in achieving your goals in health and wellness!
